Homemade natural conditioner recipes for dry and chemically treated hair

Here are some recipes for a great homemade hot oil deep conditioner for dry or chemically treated hair.

Sweet Olive Oil Conditioner

Wash hair and rinse.

Warm 1 cup of olive oil with 1/4 cup of honey. Pour the mixture into a bottle and shake well.

Apply two to four tablespoons of sweet olive oil to your hair and scalp. Massage mixture in thoroughly.

Cover your head with a plastic cap and leave on for one hour. Quicker: soak a terry towel in hot water and wrap around your head. Leave it in I for twenty minutes.

Put shampoo directly on your hair (no rinsing) and wash until all oil is removed from hair.

Dry and style as usual.

Left over oil can be used again - just make sure you heat it up before using.

Mayonnaise Conditioner

Perhaps you've heard of using mayonnaise to condition the hair. Mayonnaise is full of protein, which is great for dry or chemically treated hair.

You can pick up a jar of mayo at the store and use it as a quick, protein-rich conditioner, or you can do it the old fashioned (additive free) way and make your own. This conditioner should be used no more than once a month.

Homemade Mayonnaise Conditioner

Breat an egg into a blender. Blend for 30-seconds until foamy.

Add one tablespoon of vinegar and blend for
10-seconds more.

Uncover the blender's top and keep blending on slow speed. Slowly add 1 cup of oil (either: olive, avocado, sesame, almond, or polyunsaturated vegetable oil) into the mixture and keep blending until the mayonnaise is thick.

Massage the mayonnaise into your hair then cover your head with a plastic bag.

Leave the mayonnaise conditioner on for about 30-minutes. (Stay away from hungry pets!)

Apply a mild shampoo directly to your hair and wash until all mayo is gone. Rinse your hair thoroughly.
